APCOVE Activity 3 Senior Technical Officer, One Health

Dr Sandra Steele is a veterinarian and One Health practitioner. She has extensive experience in veterinary clinical practice, a Master of Public Health degree and a PhD in One Health from the University of Sydney. Her main research interests focus on preparedness and response to zoonoses and emerging infectious diseases, exploring pathways and barriers to operationalisation of One Health in Australia, in particular, the capacity of front-line medical and veterinary practitioners and pathways for collaboration within existing health systems. She is a lecturer at the Melbourne Veterinary School, teaching Veterinary Epidemiology, Veterinary Public Health and One Health, and previously worked on APCOVE1 in 2023.
