Alipio de Almeida

Dr Alipio de Almeida is a Timorese field veterinarian with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Udayana University in Bali and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University of Queensland. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of New England, NSW, Australia.

Since 1999, Dr Almeida has served as a livestock officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and has been a lecturer at Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) since 2000. With approximately 24 years of experience as a lecturer and researcher, he has collaborated with both national and international institutions. In addition to his role as a lecturer, Dr. Almeida was a pioneer in the application of artificial insemination in pigs in Timor-Leste and founded the Metinaro Breeding Centre (MBC).

Dr. Almeida is also an editor for the Buletin Veteriner Udayana and has been invited to serve as an editor for the Jurnal Ilmu Dasar at the University of Jember, Indonesia. He continues to be active as a field veterinarian, working with animal health students and paramedics to support farmers in rural areas.
